On March 17, St. Patrick's Day, we chase them out. I have lived here for 30 years and have yet to see one. Actually, the AVA is totally in Yakima County, although the range of hills extends into Benton County. The AVA is one of the warmest in the state and is home to many great wines due to the varied topography of the hills.
