Sweet Home Alabama!

Alabama seems more likely the land of beer and sweet tea, but its wine history began in 1817 after the US government granted some French exiles land on the Tombigee River to grow grapes and olives.  Though they failed others followed until Prohibition but the kibosh on all things wine-related.  There has been a rebirth in the late 20th century that we think will stick!
