The Beehive State

Utah was seen by the Mormons as the land of milk and honey awaiting them in the desert.  But did you know that the Mormons also established vineyards for wine production?  Toquerville, Utah was the site of the first winery in the state in 1861, as winemaking was a mission of the LDS Church to be more self sufficient.  The area was also part of a mission to produce cotton.
